Our team had the privilege of participating in a comprehensive three-day course on the Economics of Health and Health Care. Participants gained insights into fundamental concepts and principles in the economics of health and health care, setting the stage for an in-depth exploration of the field. The course delved into the application of econometric techniques to evaluate public health interventions and policy, covering regression-based approaches, instrumental methods, difference-in-differences, and matching methods using statistical packages. A focus on how markets and insurance markets work, along with an exploration of potential failures specific to health care and health insurance.
As our team reflects on this enriching experience, we are grateful for the opportunity to deepen our understanding of health economics and policy evaluation. This course not only broadened our knowledge but also provided practical tools that will undoubtedly shape our future contributions to this vital field.
